Ensign are now offering real career opportunities to experienced oil and gas drilling rig workers such as Floorhands, Motormen, Derrickhands, Drillers, Tourpushers and Rig Managers.

Depending on operational requirements the work cycle is either 14 continuous days at work followed by 14 days paid field service leave or 21 continuous days at work followed by 21 days paid field service leave.

Ensign also has opportunities for entry level Leasehand positions. Applicants with Mineral drilling experience or similar are also encouraged to apply. 

To get a start with Ensign you need to have a sound mechanical aptitude; enjoy working as a member of a team; be prepared to work shift work on a rotating basis; be able to work safety and think ahead to the next procedure; be reasonably physically fit and be prepared to live in an alcohol and drug free fully air conditioned and professionally catered remote camp.

Ensign rewards and promotes hard working and conscientious individuals who show good leadership skills and participate in the necessary training which leads to nationally accredited formal qualifications in onshore oil and gas drilling.

Applicants with a current Senior First Aid certificate, Confined Space and Working at Heights qualifications will be given preference.

Random drug testing is a regular part of the drilling industry, so if you use illegal drugs don’t waste your time applying.
